The Athlete's Bookstore - Book Profile
Men's Health Guide to Peak Conditioning
by Richard Laliberte, Stephen C. George, and the Editors of
Men's Health Books
Description
This is a really impressive book - well-written, clearly laid out and designed,
dozens of photographs, and a thorough coverage of every aspect of exercise known
to man. We say "man" because this book is ostensibly written for men, although
probably 95% of it is relevant to women as well.
One of the best aspects of the book, as you can see from the Table of Contents
below, is that it lays out exercise programs for every situation imaginable. Whether
you have a different motivation (lose weight, getting "ripped", etc.),
a different situation (travel, family, etc.), different age (20's, 30's, 40's, 50's),
different recreational interests (golf, tennis, basketball, etc.), this book shows
you the exercises that will be best for you. It even covers subjects like the proper
way to shovel snow and the proper way to split a log with an ax! When we say comprehensive,
we mean comprehensive!
The book is a bit expensive, at $29.95, but in our opinion is well worth the price.
Heck, most people would pay that much just for the advice on page 169 - exercises
to improve your sexual performance. :-)
