General Information
Single-user licenses to use our software for PalmOS handheld devices
are sold "per Palm", with individual serial numbers based on
Palm "HotSync names" (also known as Palm Usernames). When you
are purchasing large numbers of such licenses, this can become impractical,
and also, of course, a discounted price becomes appropriate. For many
of our products, we make available Site Licenses which provide you with
a special copy of the software, that has your specific Site License name
(a name you choose but typically the name of your company or organization)
"hardcoded" into the software. With a Site License there is
just a single, common serial number which can be used by all users within
your organization. Please note, however: the software is still licensed
per handheld unit. That is, if you wish to use the software on 25
handhelds within your organization, you purchase a 25-copy Site License;
if you wish to use it on 100 handhelds, you purchase a 100-copy Site License.
Site Licenses can, of course, be extended, that is, you can purchase 25
licenses now and extend your license to 100 copies at a later date. The
additional 75 copies in that case would be priced at the 100 copy rate.

Maintenance (Upgrades):
Because individually licensed copies of our software can simply be downloaded from
our web site, we frequently make new versions of our software available to individual
end users at no cost, although from time to time we do charge for upgraded versions,
with the charge varying depending on the extent and importance of the upgrade. Site
License versions of the software, however, have to be individually prepared and mailed.
Because of this, software upgrades are NOT automatically included with Site License
purchases (bug fixes, not upgrades, that occur within 30 days of the purchase of a site
license ARE included). Instead, we offer a 1-year Site License maintenance contract,
which guarantees you free upgrades for one year from the date of purchase. Site License
maintenance agreements are priced at 15% of the total cost of the software, with a limit
of $500 per year.
To purchase a Site License:
STEP 1: Download the Site License Agreement
Because Site License versions of our software are not licensed to individual
handheld units by individual serial number, in order to purchase a Site
License you must sign an agreement which commits you to monitoring the
number of licenses in use, and to ensuring that that number does not
exceed the number of licenses you have purchased. The Site License agreement
should be signed by the person in your company or organization who will
be responsible for monitoring compliance with the agreement. Download
the Site Licensee Agreement (PDF format). Note: if you are unable
to sign the Site License Agreement, and we understand the reasons why
some organizations may not wish to bind themselves in this way, then
your only alternative is to purchase multiple individual licenses for
the software with individual serial numbers.
STEP 2: Send us a written order and payment
Site License purchases must be received in written format. This can
be on your official purchase order form or really in any form you provide.
The order must be accompanied by payment. We accept payment by
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and checks drawn on U.S. banks in
U.S. funds only. By special arrangment, you may be able to make a direct
deposit into our account. We require a written signature, which can
be on your faxed P.O. (our receiving fax is secure so your credit card
infomation is secure), or on an emailed PDF file, or in actual written
form on a mailed P.O.. If you are mailing in your order, the mailing

95015.Fax orders to 1-408-366-1954. Checks should be made out to Stevens Creek Software LLC. Don't
forget to add shipping (see above) to the order and, if you want to
include a maintenance agreement (see above), include that as well. With
your order, be sure to include an email address of the chief contact
(as well as the purchasing agent, if appropriate), as well as your preferred
"Site License Name" (if it isn't obvious; typically we will
just assign the name of your company).
