Download The Athlete's Diary

Obtaining a free trial copy of
The Athlete's Diary

Free trial copies of The Athlete's Diary are available for all three versions - Windows, Macintosh, and Palm. The trial copies are 100% full-featured versions of the software, with a single exception - any log which you create with the trial copy is limited to a maximum of 25 entries. This means you can use the software for a few weeks before you decide to purchase it. If you do, you'll just continue with the same log; no need to start over. You can, however, read a log which is larger than 25 entries (like the sample file which is included with the software), so you can get a feeling for how the software works with larger files.

Problems Downloading?

On the rest of this Web page, you are able to download all of our software by "normal" means ("ftp") to your computer. For some people, if your computer (or actually, your "server") is configured in a certain way, such as you are behind a firewall, this may not work. You might see a message about "insecure FTP" or some similar message. You might also have problems if your browser is configured in nonstandard ways. If for any reason you aren't able to download software from this page, click here and you'll be taken to a Web page which will email you the software as an attachment to a regular email message. This method will be successful for almost anyone.

Macintosh

The Macintosh version of The Athlete's Diary is available in two formats: .sit (Stuffit), and .sit.hqx ("bin-hexed Stuffit"). Many downloading programs you'll be using (e.g., Fetch, America Online) will automatically unpack these for you; if you need a copy of the program which will unpack the files (Stuffit Expander), you can also download it here. The .sit format files are smaller, but some people have trouble unpacking them; the .sit.hqx files are larger but usually simpler for most software to deal with. If one of the two formats doesn't work for you, try the other one before you contact us for help.

You can place The Athlete's Diary in any convenient place on your hard disk; when you unstuff the downloaded files you'll find a new folder called The Athlete's Diary Demo which contains all the relevant files. A README file which accompanies the software will give you some ideas on how to get started. If you want to learn everything about the software, there is also a complete manual, in self-displaying format, which you can download separately if you want to (for size it is not downloaded with the software itself).
